The Botanical Facial Steam works by adding 1-2 tablespoons to a hot water to this floral mixture the concentrated herbs will release their healing properties through the steam it creates.
The warmth will open your pores, allowing your skin to fully receive the benefits the herbs have to offer. Once you have finished this ritual, is a great time to do a face mask or complete your skin care routine by adding your serum, oil or cream.
This self-care ritual that will bring calm and emotional comfort by making space to slow down and connect with your senses.
The Ritual
Find yourself a comfortable place to sit with a surface at a level you can place your bowl at without discomfort to your neck.
Place 1-2 tablespoons of your Botanical Facial Steam into a large heatproof bowl and cover with about 3 cups of boiling water.
Place your face about 10 to 12 inches (25-30 cm) away from the water. Create a tent by draping a towel over your head and over the bowl so that the steam doesn’t escape. Make sure you’re comfortable and that the steam isn’t too hot. You can occasionally open the towel if you need to take a breather.
Be cautious:
- Keep your face about 10 inches / 25 cm above the bowl to avoid injury from the steam. If it is too hot for you, lift the towel slightly to allow some cooler air to circulate.
- If your skin is very sensitive, only steam for about 5 minutes. Do not use on broken skin.
- Do not ingest.
Extra tips!
Because you won't want to get rid of your bowl of beautiful flower water:
⇢ Make a mask. We recommend maximizing the benefits of your infused botanical water by mixing it with a facial mask.
⇢ Add to your bath. Slowly pour your bowl into a warm bath and enjoy a soak in these beautifully nourishing flowers and aromas.
⇢ Make a cooling washcloth. Place them in a jar with a washcloth and let them soak in the fridge overnight. Gently lay the washcloth over your face - perfect for cooling down on a hot day or if your skin is too sensitive for the hot steam.
⇢ After applying a facial oil or moisturizer complete your skin care routine with a lymphatic massage with a Gua Sha tool.

Returns
Our return/exchange policy lasts 14 days. If 14 days have passed since you received your purchase, unfortunately, we can't offer you a refund or exchange.To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused, and in the same condition, you received. It must also be in the original packaging.
The following items are final sales and cannot be returned, exchanged or refunded: gift cards and sale items. In addition, oils, Underwear, Bodysuits, Swimwear and B.E.D.s (Body Exploration Devices including vibrators, wands and any other intimate device or lubricant) are final sale and exempt from being returned or exchanged due to their personal nature for sanitary reasons however if you believe your B.E.D. is defective (i.e. not charging, won't stay on or turn on), please email us so we can troubleshoot with you (hello@itsthelake.com).
We require a receipt or proof of purchase issued by The Lake to complete your return.
Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.
The Lake will not accept returns of any item not in its original condition, damaged or altered in any way for reasons, not due to our error, or any item returned more than 14 days after delivery was made to you.
Refunds (if applicable)
Once your return is received and inspected, we will email you to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

If the item were marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you'd receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.If the item wasn't marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver, and the gift giver will find out about your return.
Shipping
To return your product, you must email us at philippe@itsthelake.com, and we will provide you with details for the return, including The Lake's return postal address.You will be responsible for your shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. The shipping cost will be deducted from your refund if you receive a refund.
Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you may vary.
If you are shipping an item over $75, we recommend using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. Unfortunately, we don't guarantee that we will receive your returned item, and if we do not receive an item, we cannot issue a refund or exchange.
