Interview: Spring into new beginnings with Ksenia of Patriam Coffee
We caught up with Ksenia of Patriam Coffee to chat seasonal transitions, favourite pleasure rituals and what's next for Kingston's favourite mobile coffee bar. Read our interview with Ksenia below!

It's almost spring – what are you most looking forward to about the upcoming season?
I feel like spring is such a fleeing concept in Canada. Sometimes I think that we go from winter straight to summer. But I am definitely looking forward to that moment when you finally inhale the first smell of spring – the air is full of promise and warmth. I am also excited about working on starter plants to later enjoy my summer garden.
Where do you draw inspiration from?
Nature, different textures, art, my friends and their amazingness.
What brings you pleasure these days?
My book club just got back together after a break and the book we are currently reading is smut fan fiction – I think it's a perfect fit for spring 😉
Morning Pleasures vs. Evening Pleasures? Why?
Ouf that's a tough one! Can I choose both? Pretty please. Slow sipping a cortado in the morning (with a delicious pastry on the weekend) and indulgent self-care rituals to unwind before bed.

Tell us what’s on the horizon for Patriam in 2023!
Patriam is about to open a second location that will be indoor. Designing new menu items as well as interior details has been pure bliss! We have lots of artisans who will be part of this project. Trying to keep it as local as possible, as always. Catch us at our new location at Fine Balance Brewing in April!
What are your go-to products to shop at The Lake?
I am biased but I am obsessed with our collab sweatshirt Morning and Evening Pleasures. I wear mine all the time! I also love the Marula Rosehip Gold Face Oil and the ever-reliant Arc by Dame Products.
